Puppy home visits, puppy walks and puppy day care
Any responsible puppy owner will accept that a puppy can't be left home alone all day - it's just not fair on them. Surrey Pet Angels offers owners who are out all day a puppy visit service, puppy walking and a full puppy day care service.
Depending on which vet you talk to, puppies can be safely let out 1 week to 2 weeks after their last jabs. Usually, this means the puppy is about 12 weeks old. Up till this point, your puppy needs to be kept at home to prevent it picking up infection.
So up to around 12 weeks, Surrey Pet Angels will visit your puppy in it's own home or garden to feed, water, play, fuss over and burn some of that incredible energy off. We also clear up any mess that would otherwise be waiting for you on your return from work. If we visit in the middle of the day and play with them for an hour many puppies will happily sleep most of the time till you get back home.
After the puppy's last jabs and once it is now safe for them to venture out, we perform a crucial service in socialising your puppy with other puppies we care for and who are also the right age and vaccinated. We also socialise in a controlled manner with adult dogs. We are lucky in that we care for many adult dogs, small in size, well mannered and gentle with puppies.
Many dog behaviourists agree the most important time in a puppy's social development is probably around the 12-16 week mark, so it is important your puppy has many experiences with other dogs at this stage. We also introduce your puppy to the new, strange and wonderful sights, smells and sounds of horses, ducks, geese, squirrels and all the other wildlife we come across on our countryside walks. In due time, your puppy will then be ready to progress to our adult dog walking and doggie day care service
The result is a more rounded, confident, better socialised pet that will be easier to train and far more pleasurable to take out on walks with you.
